End to a great first week!

Moms and Dads,
We had a wonderful first full week of school. We've learned to much. We finished our "expectations trail pass" and now we can start earing Foxes. What are Foxes you ask? They are the "gotcha" cards we all pass out to students who are caught in the act of being responsible. We can pass them out for great hallway behavior, restroom behavior, lunch room, recess, assemblies and etc. The more your child accrues, the more they can cash in for prizes in a week. Kindergarten will cash in every other Friday. There are big prizes (an extra recess for your entire class) and small prizes (use a special pen for the day).
We also nailed down our fall Field Trip. We will be going to the Alldredge Apple Man Orchard on September 27th. We'll be leaving at 10:35 and returning around 2:15. I'll have more information coming home Monday, including a permission slip and volunteer permission slip. We'd love to have one and all join us! If you'd like to volunteer please return the slip with your child's permission slip and I'll make sure to give you a small group of children to oversee while we're there. Forest View's bus policy is: kids on the bus, parent volunteers drive themselves and follow the bus. We will be eating lunch there and we do ask that you bring a backpack with you to hold student lunches. We'll be eating FIRST THING when we get there so you won't have to carry them long. :)
I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Our class pet, Hadley the Panda is starting his yearly visits to your homes. Be watching for him to come to your house. When you see him, you know it's your turn to be the "Star of the Week". Please come up with a poster board for your star including photos, important dates, etc. I'll send home an "all about me" page for you to use, cut up, get inspiration from. Bottom line: be creative and involve your child in the star of the week process.
That's all from me! Have a great weekend!
